Discover the Zoo's Education Center

Located at the north end of the zoo, our Education Building is home to a variety of fascinating critters, including snakes, lizards, saltwater fish, and our six-banded armadillo, Meatball. The building features fun activities for visitors and hosts engaging reptile education shows. It’s a great place to learn about the zoo’s conservation efforts, its history, and the diverse animals in our care—both native and nonnative species.

During the summer months, the Education Building serves as our "zoo classroom" for the Junior Zookeeper program, where young animal lovers learn about biology, conservation, and what it means to be a zookeeper.
